Santa Barbara Engagement | Melody and Caleb

Last month I had so much fun with Melody and Caleb capturing their engagement photos! I originally met them at a bridal show in Santa Barbara and I think it was meant to be! They are such an adorable couple with a love for adventure, travel, music, and adult beverages..all things that I LOVE. They also appreciate the value of a good photograph and to have them taken in epic locations. We started out shooting at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, a place that blows me away every time I go. We then ventured to Goleta where they showed me a hidden beach that I had never been to before, and it was the most beautiful place with such diverse areas for photos. While it was extremely windy and cold that day and I think I inhaled more sand and dirt than air, it was so totally worth it! They are such naturals in front of the camera and basically needed no direction at all, so I am sure their wedding day in July will be so beautiful and such a breeze. I cannot wait to capture it at Rancho San Antonio in the Santa Ynez Valley! P.S. How amazing is Caleb’s mustache!

Camarillo Wedding | Krystle and Josh

Last month I had the pleasure of photographing Josh and Krystle’s wedding at the Sterling Hills Golf Club. It was a beautiful day with perfect weather and so much love all around. Krystle and Josh first met at Starbucks in 2015, when a quick trip for coffee turned into 5 hours of sitting and talking together. From that point on they were inseparable. Krystle says about Josh, “My favorite quality about josh is that he always makes me laugh, he is such a great father since day one. He is always putting family first and would do anything to make us happy. One of Josh’s favorite things about us is that we are always in sync. We are always thinking the same thing and doing the same thing. It’s like we are the same person”. I absolutely loved spending time with and getting to know their adorable family and it was such a honor to capture their wedding day. I hope they enjoy their honeymoon to Hawaii! Cheers!

Solstice Canyon Engagement | Chandra and Joe

It was my first time and Solstice Canyon and I have to say that I was blown away! As an east coast girl who grew up going to a high school with its own farm animals, seeing rolling hills of green, tall trees, and the sound of a moving stream made me feel like I was in Maryland again. Chandra and Joe are were just so much fun to hang out with. They are high school sweethearts (I’ve had a lot of those lately which makes me so happy!), and I absolutely adored Chandra’s dress from Lulu’s. She had her hair and makeup done by the talented Dana of Cheek to Cheek Makeup Artistry and looked absolutely stunning for her photos! Her and Joe are such easy going people and it’s their love for each other is so obvious. I cannot wait for their wedding in July at Walnut Grove and I am sure it is going to be a fun and beautiful day!

Ojai Ranch Engagement | Marisa and Jason

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Marisa and Jason who are two high school sweethearts! They are both horse ranchers in Ojai who take care of over 50 horses, and it was only fitting to shoot their photos right there on the ranch. It was amazing to see what goes into ranching and learn about their barrel racing, roping, and how they provide horseback tours through Ojai (I hope I’m saying all of the correct terms!). I also got to meet mini-horses, a bull, Marisa’s cow, and a baby cow named Wiggles. It was a such a fun day and I am sure their wedding on the ranch is going to be absolutely gorgeous. The day we did their photos also just-so-happened to be their 9 year anniversary. How sentimental! Enjoy!

LA Arts District Engagement | Sabrina and Manny

A few weeks ago Sabrina and Manny stepped in front of my lens for their engagement session at the Downtown Los Angles Arts District. They are an amazing couple who wanted a trendy and edgy setting to go with their fun personalities, and living in DTLA, they knew it was the perfect place to have their photos. This industrial and graffiti-type setting in not usually my norm, but it was amazing to step outside of my comfort zone and photograph something different. It was also my first time visiting DTLA and it looks like a stellar place with lots of hip breweries and wineries. I will definitely be going back! I’m so happy with their photos and they were too! Not to mention we had a blast walking around the district together and their session ended with them drinking a beer. How cool is that?! I can’t wait for their upcoming wedding in April!

Ventura Engagement | Mackenzie and Luke

Last month I had the pleasure of photographing an engagement session for one of my sweet couples, Mackenzie and Luke. They are getting married in Ventura, so it was only fitting to have their engagement photos taken there as well! We first started out at Grant Park near the Serra Cross, which overlooks the city of Ventura and is a gorgeous location! We then went to the Ventura Pier which was a short drive away. While walking up to the pier Mackenzie had noticed a swing set in the sand and asked if we could take photos on it and it was such a cute idea! We then strolled along the pier until the sun went down and it was a perfect evening. Mackenzie and Luke are one of the sweetest and most down-to-earth couples I have met and I am so excited for their wedding in June!

Thousand Oaks Bridal Shoot | Ryan and Tenley

Last month I had a fun mini-styled bridal shoot in Thousand Oaks with the sweetest couple, Ryan and Tenley. A big thank-you to two amazing vendors, Edith-Elan Bridal based in Chicago and florist Unique Floral Design of Simi Valley who contributed their talents to the shoot and made it extra special! Wildwood Park in Thousand Oaks was a great location for this great-outdoors and wild-flower inspired shoot. Enjoy!

Malibu Anniversary| Taylor and David

Over Thanksgiving weekend it was my honor to capture Taylor and David’s anniversary session. They now live in Reno but were in SoCal visiting family for the holiday and I was tickled when they chose me to be the one to photograph it! We started out at Charmlee Wilderness Park in Malibu where David wore his National Guard uniform (who doesn’t love a man in uniform?!) and Taylor wore a stunning red dress. Once finished we hurried down the mountain to El Matador State Beach to chase the sunset. The beach was PACKED with multiple tourist groups, other shoots going on, and we even passed by a proposal that was about to happen! Regardless of the crowd, we found our own little spot on the beach and you would never know there were 100+ others out there that day. Taylor and David were an absolute dream to work with and I LOVE their photos. When we were just about done, I asked if there were any other shots they wanted, when Taylor asked if I could get some of them playing in the water. Um..YES!! The fact that they got into the freezing cold Pacific Ocean at the end of November was so awesome and I love daring couples like them! Also, as a military wife myself, it is very important to me to say thank you to David for his service to our country! Cheers to Taylor and David..One year down, forever to go!

Santa Barbara Courthouse and Knapp’s Castle Engagement | Samara and Wes

Life has been so crazy lately and I apologize for such a late blog post on Wes and Samara’s engagement! We had a beautiful day starting at the Santa Barbara Courthouse and then moved on to the gorgeous ruined Knapp’s Castle! They brought their furbaby Cooper with them which I thought was the cutest idea ever and I’m seriously hoping it becomes a thing. He was even wearing a bowtie! How adorable! Wes and Samara are one of the most giggly and in-love couples I’ve had the pleasure of working with, making it extremely easy to take so many wonderful photos of them. Not to mention the amazing architecture of the Santa Barbara Courthouse paired with Knapp’s Castle just before sunset! I am so excited to photograph their Ojai wedding in May and can’t wait for my next blog post about them! Congrats you two!

Lancaster California Wedding | Elena and Bobby

Last weekend I had the immense pleasure of capturing Elena and Bobby’s Lancaster nuptials. The venue, Villa DeLeon, was a small oasis in the middle of the desert complete with a small pond and bridge and a large grassy reception area. The ceremony was beautiful as they said “I do” in front of 70 of their closest friends and family. Their love for each other could be felt throughout the celebration and I tried to hold back a few tears myself! Some awesome details included a jelly bean and chex-mix bar, a Polaroid guest check-in hung on a clothesline, and orchids galore. Congratulations to Elena and Bobby, it was an honor to be a part of your big day! I hope you had an amazing time in Hawaii!
